Biomass and WtE

KEP E&C has carried out eco-friendly waste-to-energy (WtE) EPC projects utilizing its experience in coal-fired power plant design and EPC, in order to fulfill the government's resource circulation and environmental energy policy.

Biomass and WtE

In order to create a sustainable resource circulation society, waste energy conversion (WtE) technology that recovers as much energy as possible from non-recyclable waste and processes it environmentally friendly is essential. With the rapid increase in the generation of plastic and medical waste since the recent COVID-19, waste energy conversion technology aimed at eco-friendly and high-efficiency treatment has become more important.

The Enforcement Rules of the Waste Management Act of the Ministry of Environment, revised in March 22, classified pyrolysis facilities as recycling facilities rather than incineration facilities, and plans to complete the circular economy through recycling by converting them from landfill and incineration, which are the existing waste treatment methods, to pyrolysis.
Accordingly, KEPCO Technology is promoting the construction of an eco-friendly incineration facility by discovering and developing pyrolysis gasification technology that replaces the existing stalker incinerator in order to actively respond to the government's waste policy. In addition, we will change the social awareness of waste treatment facilities in a positive direction through the dissemination and promotion of eco-friendly waste treatment methods.
